.The Porch Project
at the
 Nemaha County Historical Society
Year 2007

Does the public deserve to know the facts to have any trust in this organization?
I know I do not have all the facts as I continually find more.

See all  links on  this page = Some on bottom of page

The cover to our $31,000.00 book

The porch project is still not finished or if it is, it's only recently.

The front cover of this $31,000.00 book is to the right.  The  estimated cost sheets from this book are below.  The total files to create this book are  the bottom of the page.  To see the total book may be a problem as those in control have it in the Safety Deposit Box. This book came into my possession when I attended the meeting for the opening of bids for the porch project. I was the only board member that attended this meeting other than DarlAnn Rial, her husband, Dean and Stanley Hernly, the Architect. It was mentioned at the meeting that there was no need for any Board member to attend the opening of the bids. This raised  a red flag as there was too much about this I did not understand.

Following the meeting  I suggested we   put this info and cost  on the web page.  DarlAnn forwarded  me an e-mail with the attached files of this book. There was a second e-mail with files of the cost which  I already had.  This e-mail stated, "No, don’t put on website until Board reviews them on Feb. 13th.  I guess we could then. Okay?"   See E-mail

Do you think this article below from the NCHS News Letter article was  a cover-up?

A copy from the NCHS News Letter

The NCHS News Letter carried the article above after I was voted off the board.  Did getting me off the board make it safe to print this story?  Could this be one of the things that bothers the so called "Executive Board"?  The book is in the Safety Deposit box if I read the minutes correctly. Why I do not know,  .  May see by clicking on this -- Open Minutes

It was not until I saw this News letter whitewash of the grant and spending that I was sure there was a cover-up of this expenditure. For me to be on the board and let this happen is very difficult. Why was I the only one that showed up at the opening of bids?

I remember DarlAnn saying that no one need attend as she and Dean would take care of this.  No one attend this meeting other than DarlAnn and Dean Rial and myself.

The Nemaha County Historical Society uses  tax money in the form of grants and because of this they are governed by  the Kansas Open Meeting law.    How much more is being hidden?  There are many questions that need to be asked.

Why did we need a $31,000.00 book that will cost us over a million to complete what is detailed in this book?

There is no possibility that anyone  would spend this kind of money now or in the  future on this building.  We should have been advised when we took this project on that it would be a very high price project.  This was never mentioned that it was to cost more than  80 k.
Then I received an e-mail that it was reduced to 60k   Open E-mail
added to page  3/31/2009. I can not believe I am still finding e-mail that I though were deleted..

You may see the files that will print the $31,000,00 Book that is kept in the Safe Deposit Box -- Why is is kept in the Safety Deposit Box ?  Some will say I should have done this different.  This seemed to be a plan or  system of getting you you to do the some thing wrong so you would be tied in to the cover-up. I tried to get the County Attorney to take a look at this when the compare was taken over. More on that later.
You can print it off the files if you of the files if you have Adobe Reader software on you computer.
